The World Development Planner enables you to compare countries based on
measurable development indicators. It helps answer a fundamental question: how
does one country compare to another in terms of development?
Using structured global data, this tool allows you to analyze comparative
rankings across key development parameters. You can rely on standardized metrics
or construct your own customized development index.
Step 1
Select up to five countries from the 195 available options. You
may choose countries from the same continent or from different continents. The
planner enables simultaneous comparison across at least 16 development metrics,
allowing structured cross-country evaluation.
Step 2
After selecting your countries, a comparative scorecard is generated. This
scorecard presents each country’s rank relative to the other 194 countries and
displays the default Prarang Development Index. The default
index is calculated using five equally weighted components: Urbanization Index
Score, Health Index Score, Poverty Index Score, Employment Index Score, and
Education Index Score.
You may also create your own customized development index by adjusting the
percentage contribution of any of these five parameters. Your customized index
can be shared via Facebook, WhatsApp, or Email.
Step 3
In addition to the pre-selected standard data fields from Step 2, you may choose
from over 354 additional data fields to deepen your analysis. Click "Next" to
explore and select from the following categories: Demography, Education,
Government, Health, Internet, Language, Media, Urbanization, Wealth, Work,
Culture, and Nature. The selected data fields will be available for download
along with the standard fields for your chosen countries.
Step 4
Proceed to Pay & Checkout. After creating your account, you will receive
downloadable access to the selected countries and their associated standard and
optional data fields.
